So far, photographers can't capture images for sports competitions so close, specially if they were in the sea. They had to try a very risky adventure, careless of all the basics of safety procedures!!
In such events you're just a call away from the success. Our team will use the "ShortRange Star", which is a 1m small UAV to shot a film or photographs in excellent quality with NO risks at all. Furthermore the Audience will enjoy a fully views. "Yawing" is only one of many features available..

Aerial Photography

For Touristic Authorities & Real Estate Corporates we offer unmatched Aerial Photography possibilities. Our UAV's can perform very special tasks in the air, like: Looping based on its own axis (Yawing) while flying in any direction or getting very close to any building/tower with high accuracy using the signals of 12 satellites, which is not applicable for any other small or big helicopters.
The result: A short video clip can have a big effect in your business.

Traffic Solutions

This is a situation in Abu Dhabi/UAE where we can improve the traffic control very well. Not only this, we've developed a specific model of our "ShortRange Stars" to offer:
5 minutes maximum reaching time to any point in the city, direct two ways speaking with the people (drivers) & HD filming + Photography in 18 MP quality from a height of just 10m. This way we can reduce the stocking of the streets in case of an accident waiting to be reported.

Urban Planning

Aerial Photography can help effectively in this section. We give the access to view it as never before & as much as you wish. You don't need to wait for a very expensive process mostly done once a year.
Further we do a lot of tasks for you: IR & Near IR Surveys, Marshes Detection, Average Wildlife Statistics.

IR & Near IR Surveys

You'll achieve more than you expect. Some experts compare it with X-Ray medical possibilities, but we offer Municipalities and Planning Departments a lot more: Environmental & Economical Thermal Mapping, Aerial Thermography, Leaks Detections, Underwater Plants Detection…
We are using here the top of the range equipments from #1 in the world "FLIR" with their software or our in house developed special applications.

Environmental Services

We realize a combination of a group of services in one hand. Offered here are not only the IR & Near IR Surveys and the Thermal Mapping. But we offer as well:
Gas & Dust Pollution Detection, Water Pollution Detection, Risky Land & Water Sampling.
Example: A small UAV can fly to a certain Factory chimney and make several measurements fully discrete and even without affecting the exhaust stream, which a big helicopter doesn't perform.

GIS Services

Starware is proud to announce the cooperation with GIS Qatar, in order to perform the best Aerial Photography ever for Doha Heart in a resolution of 2 cm/pixel. We use here our in house developed software, which can give a complete view of a whole city in one big image, where we can also ignore the curvature of earth because of the high accuracy. The mission will be accomplished within September 2011 after getting the local needed security permissions.
We'll offer the same services for the whole GCC very soon isA.

ShortRange Star

Minimize

This is a lightweight, unmanned ShortRange Star, designed for short applications that require a smaller budgeting or shorter tasks (less than 1 hour & 20 km). It too can be programmed to perform fully autonomously. Further, its' small size & flexibility give it the possibility for many new applications (eg. Acrobatic Shows, Traffic Monitoring, Aerial Photography, Environmental Surveillance, Tactical Tasks, etc).

The payload capacity is 5 kg including LiPo battery, which gives an endurance of up to 1 hour when carrying light payloads weighing not more than 250gm.

Technical parameters:

  • Motors: 8 electric motors with a total thrust of 8 x 2,5 kg
  • Battery capacity: 5000mA (expandable to 3 modules, depending on payload weight)
  • Dimensions: less than 1m including all rotors
  • Construction: composites and hardened aluminum
  • Endurance: at sea level Speed: 0 ~ 150 km/h about 30 minutes by 2x 5000mA LiPo.
  • Maximum payload: 5 kg
  • Altitude: 10-2000 m by wind speed of 50 km/h

This is built from hardened aluminum and composite materials. Its' construction features an outstanding flexibility.

Reliability and Maintenance:

FlyingStar systems are designed to be a reliable part of your project. The ShortRange Star is based on a lightweight, proven airframe, which has been in service with companies all over the world for more than 12 years. Also, we always maintain a large stock of spare parts for convenience.

Fields of Use:

  • Acrobatic Shows on festivals and open air night events
  • Ordinary and specialized air surveillance with the highest photography accuracy, globally
  • Night surveillance: night photography without any light (0.0001 candela) or thermographs (picture any human, animal or equipment at 100 m), so it is ideal for border protection against illegal migrants, smugglers or terrorists, as shown below
  • Assisting in rescue operations, battle management, as well as military and security confrontations, fire crisis management, missing person searches, etc.
  • Transmitting live broadcasting from sites to responsible officers in central departments, with an archive since the beginning of operation
  • Preview towers, bridges and high equipment with unprecedented proximity
  • Aerial photography of football matches, horse or camel races
  • Detection of cracks and leaks using thermography and high accuracy photography
  • Sensing toxic gases and others. (This includes the oil fields' issue of toxic gases where only 3 seconds of exposure is enough to eradicate a human life unless equipped with protective masks. Currently, this has been a major cause of loss of life for many workers in oil companies)
  • Monitoring pipelines of gas and oil not only against attacks but also against leaks

FEATURES AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Quantifications:

    • Noise emitted is relatively low (60 dB at the distance of 3m) which is equivalent to ordinary street noise. That makes it relatively unnoticed and eases its mission in surveillance without detection.
    • Albeit it's smaller size, it can fly for a period equal to three times its' counterparts of the commercial type (used in movies and advertising industry in Europe) and it can carry three times the load of any counterpart plane.
    • Its' speed is three times that of its' counterpart (150 Km/hr) which is more than 40 m/s, equal to the height of seven floors in ONE second.
    • Load: it can carry a 5kg load, but it is recommended not to exceed a 1kg load to get optimal speed and period of operation.
    • Period of Operation: Up to more than one hour, but with a load of 1kg, will be 35min.
    • Height: It can fly to an altitude of 2,000m but is recommended not to exceed 500m, according to civil aviation regulations applied universally.
    • Operation Environment: It can work in temperatures ranging from zero to 50 degrees Celsius.
  2. Technical Features:

    • If the battery of the plane is low, it sends a warning to the land pilot. If he did not interact with it, the plane will land vertically in the last available minute, in order not to fall to the ground.
    • If the plane were to lose half its motors in any accident, it will continue flying with stability without any problem.
    • In an instance of falling down (which is theoretically unlikely) it will result in no damage, due to its small size and the flexibility of its' wings. Its' use of batteries instead of internal combustion engines, means that even petroleum installations have no cause for concern because there is no spark combustion.
    • If performing sensitive jobs without wireless connection it can use a prior programming system (can be pre-programmed to perform certain jobs at specified times, places and heights using electronic maps or Google Earth). Therefore it flies and operates without any connection, then returns and lands in the specified base automatically, letting the soldiers and technicians extract what it has collected in terms of photography and recordings.
  3. Control and Navigational Systems:

    • The FlyingStar has a very modern electronic systems such as:
      • GPS based navigational system
      • Speed, direction, height, atmospheric pressure and temperature measuring devices, combined with the ground control station
      • Sensors and cameras for visible and invisible gases
      • Devices transmit live broadcasting to the land control unit
      • Automatic tracing unit (Follow Me, Follow Cam, …)
    • A Black Box records all movements from the first time of initial operation (a memory of tens of years!) It is supplied with automatic piloting in the event of encountering any troubles in the air. If the land pilot were to give incorrect maneuvers that could cause it to fall mistakenly, the plane is programmed to reject such instructions.
    • The plane is connected to an individual server and precise security system to control it remotely, so it can receive operative orders from different departments, even if it is internationally away from its control unit. There is the ability to archive for many years, all that has been photographed and sensed, distributing information as required to various departments.
    • It can be supplied with mobile SIM, to control it from anywhere without necessity for prior programming or even a remote control, if so desired.
    • Control: with wireless remote control till visibility range, or with the aid of a land station, or with programming for further distances; but it is recommended the operation distance to be 5 to 10km, not more.
    • Ground Control Station: the mobile version is a hard bag containing a laptop supplied with antenna, on a self-movement carrier to track the connection with the line of site automatically. This means that the antenna self- moves to track the direction of the plane each second, in order to achieve the best possible control and level of transmitting sound and image. At the land station control, there is a program for longer range including numerous strong technical specifications similar to large planes, which information can be supplied upon request.
    • The land Control Station is supplied with two screens:
      • The first: to transmit live broadcasting from the fixed camera on the plane with a high resolution 720 P which is suitable for day and night photography, down to even 0.5 lx (half candela) with the possibility to use another cameras up to a weight of 1kg.
      • The second: is supplied with satellite images showing the real-time route of the plane, whether between buildings or open areas.
    • In the event of a lost connection with the land station, the plane will return to the starting point autonomously.
    • Automatic Control: It can be pre-programmed to fly for longer distances at specified times without wireless connection, returning to its' starting point or any other location within in its' range.
  4. General Features:

    • Due to its' size, it can be carried within a car and can be operated from anywhere.
    • It is undetectable by radar due to its' very small size.
    • It is highly effective in monitoring borders, particularly mountains and other difficult terrain.
    • It is ideal for surveillance operations as it has a subtlety ordinary large surveillance planes cannot achieve.
    • Its extreme maneuverability in the narrowest of areas, make it highly useful to reach areas that are otherwise unreachable. (Eg. It can enter buildings through small openings)
    • As part of our after sale service, we have a reserve of and provide all spare parts for the plane and land station, either directly through our office or via our local agent.
